How To Reduce Weight And Treat Mild Anemia?

HALLO DOCTORS, I M A KAISER PERMANENT MEMBER AND THIS ORGANIZATION HAS OFFERED NO SOLUTIONS TO MY EXTREME ABDOMINAL GIRTH, MY EXTREME HEAVY LEGS SYNDROM AND FATIGUE. I THOUGHT I HAD ASCIDIES BUT THE ULTRA SOUND WAS NEGATIVE. I M BEING TREATED FOR HYPOTHYROIDISM WITH LEVOTHYROXINE, A SYNTHETIC, AND ARMOUR THYROIDS 60 MG. I HAD A BATTERY OF BLOOD TESTS AND THEY REVEALED A MILD ANEMIA. WHAT IS YOUR EXPERT OPINION, BEFORE I GO TO ANOTHER MEDICAL CENTER TO GET A NON BIAS DIAGNOSIS? BY THE WAY, I WALK 3-5 MILES DAILY IN THE HILLS OF ENCINO, LEGS PERMITTING, AND HAVE DONE 4 L.A. MARATHONS. I CURRENT WEIGH 260 LBS, 32 BMI, 19% BODY FAT, 38 INCH CHEST, 51 INCH WAIST LINE.

Hello and thanks for your question. Abdominal fat is accumulated with we eat a diet that is heavy in sweets and carbohydrates. It is great that you exercise, but cutting back on carbohydrates is very important. Also hypothyroidism is a cause of fat accumulation as well so make sure that that is treated adequately. Cutting your daily calories to about 1500 calories per day and limiting carbohydrates to 100 grams per day should help you lose the weight. The anemia is another issue and we would have to know the cause of the anemia in order to advise you on that. There are many types of anemia and each one has a different treatment. Good luck to you in finding a cause for your problems.
