How To Treat Acne Pits On My Cheeks?

iam a 23 years old girl...I used to have acne and pimples all over my faCE in my teen age... which are gone by now.. right now i don't have any problem of acne/pimples but, i have developed small acne pits on all over my my cheeks.... doctor has suggested melalite forte cream followed by glyco A 12% and tretinoin 0.5% (mixed together)... since i have small acne pits which are not very deep pitted, so doctor refused to give microdermabrasion treatment and prescribed this oinments which are to be applied minimum for two months... WILL THESE HELP IN REMOVING MY ACNE PITS?

Hello,

Thank you for posting on HCM.

Acne scars are pretty challenging to treat and treatment comes with variable results.

In my experience, i dont think any topical medication can actually help in treating acne scars. Tretinoin and Glycolic acid though helpful but are useful for maintenance rather than treatment per se.
Melalite forte cream contains Hydroquinone, tretinoin and a steroid. Its use is usually warranted for extreme hyperpigmentation and i dont think its of any use for acne scars.
I would suggest you to go for laser therapy (Fractional Co2 laser, Non-ablative RF etc) as it has the best results of all other treatment modalities. Moreover, if additionally treated with dermaroller or 100%TCA peel (CROSS technique), pretty appreciable results can be achieved.
