How To Treat Inhalation Mediated Mid Chest Pain?

I am a 50 year old female and in good shape. I was diagnosed April 2013 with EBV. Prior to diagnoses, I was waking up everyday with bad headaches that became progressively worse. Eventually, aleve did not help and then developed low constant low grade fever. After visit to Doctor and test had positive ANA and then found to have EBV. I am a Physical Therapist which is pretty demanding physically. I stayed out of work for 3 weeks. Gradually feeling better. I have been fine until end of November....started waking up with headaches everyday, but would get relief with aleve, coffee flonase. Also started feeling a little out of body with movement (driving car). In December I started feeling shorness of breath, tight chest almost constantly. Saw Doctor...EKG done and fine, chest xray fine. My family has a history of autoimmune...mom rheumatoid arthritis and my older sister had graves disease, but has been in remission now for several year. Doctor reran ANA and numbers came up high. I wonder if they could stay high after EBV. retested for EBV, but that shows as not recent. Doctor trying medicine for acid reflux, but not helping with SOB. I am so tired and discouraged. Always trying to take a deep enough breath. Had and ultrasound today for Gallbladder. I am not a smoker and have never smoked. My cholesteral has always been great. Have not had that checked this year. Now chest muscles are sore from this breathing this way. Pain mid chest with inhaling May sound strange, but get some relief when I lie on stomach with a pillow under xiphoid process/stomach. Seem to breath easier. I need to get to work, so obviously I can t stay lying down. My Doctor has done more bloodwork with regard trying to figure out high ANA and waiting for results which could take several days. I have felt like going to the emergency room several times....I need help yesterday!

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the chest which is aggravated by deep inhalation is likely to be due to musculo skeletal cause. Taking oral muscle relaxants will help in decreasing the pain.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
