The history of green and brown mucus is suggestive of an active infection in the nose or sinuses, which travel through the Eustachian tube to the ear. Once the infection reaches the ears, it can spread to the
inner ear comprising of labyrinth can cause you
vertigo,
severe pain and
vomiting.
I would advise you the following in such circumstances:
First of all to give sample of the mucus for gram staining, culture and sensitivity.
The CT scan of the mastoids and sinuses to see the extent of infection.
To start on an appropriate broad spectrum antibiotics, decongestants, anti-inflammatory and symptomatic treatment.
Bed rest.
Continue the medicines till you are cured.
