How To Treat Loose Motion In A 8 Years Old Child?

Hi, my 8 yr old daughter has had loose bowel movements for over a week now and has started to get stomach cramps with it. She is also getting up during the night for bowel movements. I went to see a doctor on Monday who said to come back in 7-10 days if the problem persisted. I may take her back earlier if I don't see any sign of improvement. However in the meantime can I give Calpol or Ibuprofen to help with the pain? I seem to recall that one of them shouldn't be used if the complaint is with the stomach. She has no fever.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
For stomach cramps along with diarrhea Cyclopam syrup may be used 2-3 times daily.
It looks like Amoebic colitis and treatment with metronidazole may help.
Consult your doctor
