Hello! Migraine is a complex disorder. It's treatment includes the chronic/preventive treatment and acute/abortive treatment. The abortive treatment envolves different measures, staying in a dark and queit room. The use of abortive drugs such as nonsteroid anitiinflammatory drugs, triptans (for example sumatriptan which is available in intranasal and sublingual forms), ergotamines wich can also be used intravenous , opioids.
In some cases the patient has to go the hospital to treat severe vomiting and subsequent dehydration, to treat status migrainosus(when attacks of migraine repeat immediately one after another, without any ease).
If your husband had profuse vomiting and th epain continues even after 72 hours you should go to the hospital.
I hope everything is fine. Kind regards
