How To Treat Painful, Swollen Foot And Ankle With Difficulty In Walking?
I have had foot and ankle pain for a long time. However the last 4 months it has become almost unbearable. The trouble is mainly on my right foot. On the inside around my ankle and it comes around to the top and side of my foot. It stays swollen most all the time and Is very painful when I walk on it. I hop like it is broke. I have tried wrapping it, ice and new different shoes. It does get better with rest but no sooner than I am walking the pain comes back. I do feel a slight difference in the bone on the top inside of my foot and the veins on the side of my foot stay swollen out and rigid. This is really driving me crazy. I also have a boot that I have worn and it still hurts even walking with it. Any suggestions on what to do.? Thank you Regina White Sorry didn't realize I had to pay. Cancel my question Again sorry.
The symptoms you have mentioned correlate mainly to involvement of the ankle joint with referred pain to the foot. It could be either due to Synovitis and joint inflammation or due to infection.
Kindly get an Xray done along with a MRI. Get the joint aspirated and send the fluid for culture and sensitivity. Start anti inflammatory and antibiotics according to culture report. Take as much rest as possible.
