How To Treat Stomach Upset And Gas Problems In An 8 Month Old Child?
My son is 8 months old and everything seems to upset his stomach. We have even changed his formula to Lactose free. We have given him all kids of over the counter gas medication. He has been on 2 different types of acid reflux medication. He does not tolerate solids. He wakes through his naps and at night time screaming and passing gas. He is exhausted and having difficulty keeping eyes open. He falls asleep after drinking 2-3 oz and then wakes anywhere from 1/2 an hour to 2 hours later screaming again. Begging for help!!!!!! My whole family is exhausted!!!!!!
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
First the cause of the problem should be identified. If it is lactose intolerance lactose free formula will help. If it is reflux esophagitis then those medications may help. But proper cause should be identified with proper investigations. You should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care.
