How To Treat The Cough With Fluids And Cough Mess?
I saw a doctor a week ago who said I just had a cold and to treat it as such with fluids and cough mess. Now my cough has become so severe that my ears pop and ache when I cough and I have coughed so hard it has made me sick a couple of times. What should I do?

You need a further re-evaluation by a pulmonologist to rule out bronchitis/pneumonia:
- physical examination
- Chest X-ray
To my opinion, you should start:
- antibiotic course
- anti-histamine drug
- mucolitic cough drug
to ease your cough and dissolve the sputum. Try to drink plenty of water and juice and to take extra pillow (2) while sleeping.
