How To Treat The Inflammation Caused By A Fracture?

My 4 years kid has fallen down and hurt his leg, below the knee there is an inflammation. We took him to the doctor and he checked and said no fracture, given a tetanus injection and not to worry. But that inflammation has not subsided, we are using bengay ointment is it sufficient or do we need to give him any additional medicine for that inflammation. Kindly advise.
