Hi
Welcome to the HCM
I understand your concerns. Many a times, by omitting a variety of food items in child's diet due to fear of aches and bowel disturbances, we make them prone to
malnutrition. Every child needs a proper balanced diet at this age in spite of allergies and diseases. It's not advisable to go for any special diet such as
gluten free without prior diagnostic tests which includes TTG
antibodies and duodenal biopsy if required.
Gassy tummy and stomachache in your child may be due to
peptic ulcer disease, enzyme deficiencies, food allergies, infections or worm infestation such as
giardiasis. So, to treat it I would recommend you to visit a gastroenterologist for complete examination and evaluation. Also, give your child normal healthy meals which include carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins. You may consult a dietitian for help. Many a times vitamin deficiencies can cause such symptoms.
Hopefully this will be helpful.
Take care
