How To Treat Tinnitus While Having Infection In Ear Drum?

I am a female, 48 years old, healthy in all respects. During a cold I had a ruptured membrane 12/20/2011 that had healed, but according to the doctor, some infection was trapped in the ear drum. The doctor doctor prescribed Augmentin 875 mg and I have taken six doses. There is still severe tinnitus but my hearing has come back somewhat (was not hearing at all out of that ear). My ear still pops when I burp and there is some sharp nerve-like pain occasionally. Does this indicate that the infection is not clearing? Will the tinnitus likely clear with healing of the infection?

hi
tinnitus means ringing in the ear can be due to various reasons and infection of middle ear is one of it but if the infection is cleared and then also you have tinnitus then other causes of tinnitus should be considered.
so visit n ent specialist and get yourself evaluated and take proper treatment.
