How To Turn A Breech Baby To Its Correct Position?
Hi there, last week at my ob-gyn appointment i was told i was 2 cm dilated and my cervix was thinning with the baby in place ready to go. I went to the hospital because i thought i was in labor but through an ultrasound was now told the baby is feet down head up and that my cervix is rock hard again. Can you please shed some light on this.
Hello, You did not mention how many weeks pregnant you are. If you are term, the fetal position cannot change. If your consultant felt the cervix dilated and thinned out, this cannot regress. You are likely to go into labor sooner or later. Only, if you are not yet due, the labor should be tried to be postponed by raising the foot end, absolute bed rest, sometimes tocolytics and so on. In this scenario, I would ask for a proper speculum examination as fetal parts in a dilated cervix and breech presentation can often mislead diagnosis. Wish you safe motherhood.
