How To Use Peridex And Prevident 5000?

Good Afternoon Doctor, my question is....how do I use both Peridex and PreviDent 5000 Booster at bedtime (or even during the day) if I should not drink anything after taking one or the other? During the day might not be a problem but before bedtime....?? This might be a question for one of the dentists :) Thanks

Hi & Welcome.

Peridex (Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.12%) is antiseptic mouth wash commonly prescribed for the treatment of gingivitis.

15 mL of Peridex should be taken twice daily after brushing. Oral rinse should be retained for 30 seconds then expectorated after rinsing.

PreviDent 5000 Booster which contains Sodium fluoride makes teeth more resistant to decay & bacteria that cause cavities hence it is used to prevent cavities.

This is best used once daily just before bedtime instead of your regular toothpaste.

You should not rinse your mouth, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes after using these medicaments to get the best results.
