How Would Acute Myeloid Leukemia And Enlarged Spleen Due To Myelofibrosis Affect The Body?

My 71 year old brother has AML. Leukemia is in remission right now but spleen is enlarged from Myelofibrosis Dr. said today. He is starting him on JAKAFI which will be mailed within a week. My brother has NO appetite because of severe nausea. He had last VIDAZA injections about 8 weeks ago. Physical condition is not good. What is prognosis for the myleofibrosis? He was in hospital 25 days upon initial diagnosis with red devil and other chemo Dec. 19,2012-Jan.14,2013. Thanks Jymme Bond (sister)

HI
Than for asking to HCM
I am really sorry for your brother's health, he has a malignant disease and already on chemo and according to you the remission of lesion is found there, so he will achieve the normal span of life, but with some clinical condition and symptoms too during this period he has to be under medical and nursing care all along the time, I hope you can understand this and will help you have nice day.
