If the root canal treated tooth can be saved,re-rct has to be done.
If tooth cannot be saved,get it removed soon.
Take antibiotic cover to prevent infective endocarditis.
Get your blood checked to rule out chance of infection spread into blood.
Get your teeth cleaned.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
Use chorhexidine mouthwash to gargle.

An abscessed tooth should be very well treated,to prevent any infection to the blood stream.
in your case it becomes mandatory to take prophylactic antibiotic.

Also before doing any dental procedures you must consult your physician and take the prophylactic dosage of antibiotic.

visit your dentist and get the abscessed tooth treated as soon as possible.

meanwhile maintain very good oral hygiene.

hello starreimer,
first of all its mandatory to go for a crown( cap) on the RCT treated tooth. after RCT tooth becomes brittle. so capping should had been done. ok now the problem is without crown( cap) the tooth just fractured extending below gingival level due to which food deposition , marginal leakage into the treated tooth happened.. well all this causes gums infection and even the treated tooth becomes infected. . if u r using pacemaker then get your tooth checked by an endodontist first. need to do routine check up, x-ray and few more tests. depending on this the dentist would decide whether to save the tooth or not. if extraction is advised then pre-operative medication (3 days prior) is advised.

Abscessed tooth can spread its infection in the blood stream, treatment of the infected tooth is essential.
Before starting the procedure consult to your Physician and take prophylactic dose of antibiotics.

Placement of crown over root canal treated tooth is necessary, as it becomes brittle and cannot withstand the masticatory forces, in such cases chances of fracture of tooth increases.

I would suggest you take an x-ray, depending upon which treatment would be re-RCT or extraction of the tooth.

Get complete mouth scaling and polishing done.
Use antiseptic mouthwash gargles twice daily to prevent infection.

According to your history i can suspect some remnant of the infected pulp tissue has left unexplored during the root canal procedure or there is a missed canal due to which the infection has gone worse and you have developed a periodontal abscess due to spread of infection to the underlying tissue.

This type of abscess needs to be drained and compressed .

once the abscess is drained the infected tooth needs to be explored again for root canal procedure.

you need to get an x ray done the affected area to confirm the presence of infection, approach a dentist for the treatment.

To prevent the spread in the blood stream you may have to start with a proplylactic course of antibiotic before starting the treatment.
