I Am Suffering From Tooth Pain And Taking Clindamycin HCL 150mg 2 Caps, But I See Dark Skin Discoloration Into The Inner Corner Of My Right Eye
Tooth # 4 RT. Maxillary 2nd Bicuspid (I looked it up on chart) the whole tooth shattered apart below the gum line. I m taking Clindamycin HCL 150mg 2 caps 3 times a day. I have pain that will shoot up into my Rt. ear and temple. Been on abt about 4 days. However, now I m now seeing a dark skin discoloration under and UP into the inner corner of my Rt. eye now. (like a minor black eye) Can infections cause skin discolorations without swelling? I m 5 5 168lbs and 55 years old.
An infection in the tooth can lead to pus accumulation leading to pain and swelling, this swelling can sometimes can spread to the tissue spaces.
I would suggest you to visit to the Dentist and get the checkup done take an OPG x-ray of the mouth, drainage of abscess is required followed by course of antibiotic and analgesics.
Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash gargles.
Maintain a good oral hygiene.

Fractured tooth may be periapically infected.
Depending on the extent of fracture tooth has to be restored/root canal treated.
I would advice you to get clinical as well as x-ray evaluation.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
Take complete course of antibiotics.
Skin discolouration may be due to contusion during fracture.
Use soft bristled toothbrush and dental floss to clean your teeth.
Listerine mouthrinses can be used to gargle.
Take care.
your clinical history suggests me you had a severe impact injury which has fractured your upper premolar tooth.
depending upon the severity of the truama , the tooth can be treated either by root canal procedure or if the prognosis of the tooth is poor it can be extracted followed by a replacement.
Discloration in the eye is may be due to Hemorrhagic contusion seen in the eye due to impact injury.
please consult an optalmologist for opinion.
dental infection cannot be related to the eye discoloration.
Hi,
Thanks for asking query,
According to your explanation it seems that your fractured has undergone sever periapical infection, sometimes periapical infection also involves the tissue spaces leading to swelling in the particular region.
The dark skin discoloration around the eye may be due to contusion during the trauma.
I suggest you to visit the dentist get the OPG done.
Tooth can be corrected by rct associated with drainage of abscess depending upon the extent of trauma or extraction followed by replacement with prosthesis.
Take proper broad spectrum antibiotic and non steroidal analgesic course as prescribed by your dentist.
Hope this will help you.
helllo as per your description it seems that your tooth got frctured and due to that pulp is exposed now an exposed pulp leads to pain infection and swelling in the area of root tip thats what seems to be the case with you what i would suggest that you visit your nearby dentist and get a radiograph done and get the tooth extracted in the meanwhile you can do the following to reduce pain and swelling 1.levofloxacin 500 mg twice daily for 5 days 2. any pain killer twice daily for 5 days 3.omnacortil 10 mg twice daily for 3 days 4.lukewarm saline rinses for 4-6 times daily hope that helps

hello,
An infection results in accumulation of pus and other products in body spaces.... so there is a possibility of this resulting in discoloration of skin without there being a noticeable swelling... please visit ur dentist and get ur infected tooth treated.... dont self medicate..
