I Fell Down 3 Weeks Ago Now I Have Swollen Leg And Foot
Hi! I fell down 11 hardwood steps about 3 weeks ago. I am a 63 yr. old female, 5 5 and weigh 145 lbs. Really bruised my left hip and buttock (swollen) but no broken bones so didn t go to DR. NOW I am swollen - especially the left foot and left knee . Also pain along the side of the outside calf. What is going on?

Hi,
There is possibility of blood collecting in the knee joint and left foot is called hematoma.It is also possible that you might have sprain on ankle leading to swelling and pain.
You consult orthopedic surgeon for checking and treatment.Aspiration of blood from the part is also required if hematoma is formed,otherwise infection may take place following lots of complications.
