I Get The Feeling I Am About To Sneeze, But It Never Fully Comes Out

ok this weird - In the past month and a half, i just cant sneeze anymore. i used to sneeze a few times a week and now i suddenly lost the ability to. i even tried making myself sneeze, like sniffing pepper (it just went down my throat instead of sneezing it out) and nothing worked (and these are things that always made me sneeze in the past). nothing even triggers me to sneeze anymore. i m really frustrated, and i dont know if its dangerous, normal or an indication for something. what could it be? is it a real problem or not?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
1. Do you have any other symptoms besides your inability to sneeze such as numbness, weakness, decreased gag reflex, hiccups, altered taste, visual problems, trouble swallowing or breathing?
2. You should see a neurologist to rule out any disruption of the sneeze reflex pathway. You may require an MRI and C.S.F. examination via a Lumbar Puncture, if this persists.
3. If your inability to sneeze is an isolated symptom, it is indeed rare. Local causes include damage to nasal mucosa, thick mucus, side effect of medication and rarely, lung problems. Damage to the Vagus and Phrenic nerves in the chest may also cause this.
4. In short, if this persists you need an examination from head to chest.
