I Was Wondering For Causes Of Blindness, Please Suggest Me ?

My 3 month old nephew was put in a hospital for 2 weeks ! An when he came back was not able to see or follow any objects. Which before he was sent out there he was able to do both things just fine. I was wondering if morphine or a blood transfusion may have cause this ? your help would be very much appertiated

you have not mentioned the cause of hospitalisation.If he received oxygen during hospital stay,Then you have to suspect an eye disease called RETINOPATHY OF PREMATURITY,WHICH MAY CAUSE BLINDNESS.Consult an eye specialist to find out the cause and for proper treatment.

At 3 month of age u cannt comment on blindness.Retinopathy of prematurity at end stages cause retinal detachment then only it can cause decrease of vision. there can be chances of delayed visual maturation in such children vision normally comes after 6-7 month.Cortical visual impairement is another possibilty .visual stimulation excersise with bright toys will help,but before doing consult pediatric ophthalmologist
