IUD Placed After Child Birth. X-ray Showing IUD In The Pelvis. Surgery Suggested. Need Immediate Treatment?

I had an IUD placed at 8 weeks post partum. At a 5 week check-up the threads weren't visible. An ultrasound was unable to locate the IUD and an x-ray shows it is in my pelvis. I will be having surgery to have it removed however I would like to wait until I am done nursing my daughter before having the surgery and having to go under GA. How urgent is it to have the IUD removed?

HI, AM DR. TIWARI.YOU HAVE A DISPLACED IUCD.IF YOU ARE NOT HAVING PAIN,VOMITTIG OR DISTENSION OF ABDOMEN AND NO BLOOD IN URINE YOU CAN WAIT,BECAUSE DURING SURGERY ALSO IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE TO RETRIEVE IT.
