You are having irregular periods since 2-3 years. You should get yourself examined to find out the cause of irregular bleeding. Certain tests like pelvic ultrasound should be done to diagnose uterine fibroids, polyps, or ovarian cysts. Vaginal culture should be done to test for infection. Blood tests for anemia and routine pelvic examination should be done.
You will be treated accordingly. Irregular bleeding is commonly treated with hormonal birth control pills to stop bleeding due to fibroids and endometriosis. IUD helps control the amount of bleeding each month. GnRH agonists reduce the size of the uterine fibroids. They help regulate menstruation and the cycle. To reduce pain you can take NSAIDs. Get an evaluation from your doctor and get appropriate treatment. In the meantime, take healthy diet, do moderate exercises, take adequate rest and manage stress.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,
Mirena is hormone inbuilt intrauterine device meant for contraception. The hormone here tends to increase weight. So if you want to avoid pregnancy (and get free of tension of pregnancy, due to irregular periods). In such a case I would suggest to use normal Copper T without hormone.
