Incomplete Abortion. Fibroid 4cm In Cervix And 9cm In The Fundus Area Of The Uterus. Any Chances Of Pregnancy?
Dear Doctor there is a patient, 39 years of age, who concieved with a fibroid 4cm in cervix and 9cm in the fundus area of the uterus, anyway at tenth week she underwent an incomplete abortion and recovered in wards....can i kno from you her chances of pregnancy? and also if to be operated for her fibroids...what would be the approach...abdominal or pervaginal. Thanks Doc.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Better to go for medical therapy for three months to decrease the size of her fibroids. After that go for repeat ultrasound once. If the size of the fibroids decreased and she responded well to medical treatmnet, she can continue the tablets for 3 more months and then she can try for pregnancy. If there is only partial decrease in the size of the fibroids, she can go for laparoscopic myomectomy of the fundal fibroid and the cervical fibroid can be left like that if it is not obstructing the canal.
