Increased Sensitivity And Change Of Colour In Elbow After Having It Drained. Does It Sound Serious?

My husband had his elbow drained about two months ago and his elbow is still very sensitive to touch and is now a dark shade of purple. We are leaving for vacation for 10 days. Should he have it looked over now or can we wait until we return? He wants to wait. I m concerned. Thank you.

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
In my opinion you need to get an X-ray of elbow to rule out any collection of pus which might have collected after drainage due to lurking infection.Sensitiveness of the elbow simply means that there is active infection and requires medical attention as soon as possible.Hope this helps.
