Infected With Herpes In Head, Took Antibiotics. Not Cured Till Now. Feeling Pain In Head. Suggest?

mother aged about 89 years had been infected with harpies in her head rather brain diagnosed by house physician in 2011, in that period she took antibiotic medicines in three consecutive phases. totally not cured till now though she is taking medicines as prescribed .She is feeling severe pain in head. How she would be relieved from pain.Please advise.

Hi There,
Welcome to HCM.
Herpes infection of the brain is very rare and occurs in patients whose immunity is very low. And fortunately herpes infection is one of the viral infections which is totally treatable. Anti viral drugs called acyclovir is given for such patients. I suggest you get in touch with her doctor for pain medications which can help to some extent. She should complete her course of therapy and get investigated if her infection has healed completely. I suggest a specialist consultation for detailed examination and investigation for your mother.
