hello friend ,
thanks for sharing this query ,
firstly i would like to say that your delay of treatment has lead to this situation..you are heading to a condition called ludwig angina which if left untreated can be fatal...kindly immediately go to an oral surgeon..he will extract the infected teeth ,drain your pus ,put you on higher antibiotics..you have to be hospitalized for regular dressing of the incised area(done below the chin to drain out the pus)
make sure you visit oral surgeon soon
get well soon..

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

From the details provided, its not clear that whether the wisdom tooth has fully erupted or is it still impacted?

If tooth has erupted completely and decayed,it has to be restored or root canal treated.

If tooth is impacted,it has to be either extracted or flap overlying tooth has to be removed to enhance tooth eruption.

Take complete course of amoxycillin after consulting with your dentist.

Meanwhile,gargle frequently with warm saline.

Irrigate the infected area with betadine solution.

Hope this helps.

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

please do not get worried and panic due to pain and infection.Relax.

Present antibiotics is not working due to resistance towards that particular drug.
Please visit your dentist and get your antibiotics changed. Also if abscess has developed there it requires immediate drainage.

Therefore make a note and discuss it with your oral surgeon, if extraction can be carried out at this stage.

once the pus is drained along with extraction, you will have immediate relief.

under antibiotic coverage the extraction can be carried out.

Also, antibiotics can be administered through intravenous route if required.

Therefore, i would suggest you to see your oral surgeon soon to avoid any space infection.

please let us know for further query.

Thanks.

Take care.

hi...
thanks for the query...
please visit your dentist again and ask him to prescribe any stronger antibiotic... also go for anti inflammatory too...
tell him to irrigate the area with antiseptic solution... and if possible make the swollen areas out of occlusion... get your abscesses drained after that...
do warm saline rinses 6-7 times a day... take plenty of water and liquid diet to avoid dehydration...
symptoms should subside in 2-3 days...
go for wisdom teeth extraction afterwards...
hope it will help you...
take care...

Dentist, Orthodontics Dr. Praveen Gowda BR's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query. With your symptoms, it is clear that infection has spread from wisdom teeth.Deep dental caries which has spread to third layer of the teeth called pulp should be treated with the root canal procedure(RCT) in time. If it is not treated, it will spread to adjacent bone causing abscess which will lead to severe pain, swelling, difficulty in mouth opening and discharge of pus. This is followed by lymph nodes swelling of neck which is your symptom now. Further if not treated will lead to space infection.
Due to more infection, low dose or lower spectrum antibiotics does not act. I will suggest you to consult your dentist for clinical examination and higher spectrum antibiotics through IV (Intra-venous) or IM(Intra-muscular) route that can effectively reduce infection faster acting against resistant bacteria's. Along with it, there is need to drain the abscess by access opening in the infected teeth.
Once the infection is completely subsided, treatment can be planned out for restoring the teeth.
Hope I have answered your query. If you need further clarification, feel free to ask. Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suspect that you have developed severe infection in your lower wisdom tooth on both right and left sides.
I would suggest you to visit to an Oral Surgeon and get and checkup done take an OPG radiograph and plan for the extraction of the tooth.
Take complete course of antibiotics and analgesic under the prescription of your Dentist.
Difficulty in mouth opening is due to pain and swelling.
Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.

Take care!

General & Family Physician Dr. Ramesh M.Vachharajani's  Response
Hi,
It seems that that particular antibiotic is resistant to this bacteria.
Now as infection spreads and become severe you may require higher antibiotic medicine and might require injectable antibiotic to have its effect.
Consult your dentist and get pus removed if abscess is formed, otherwise antibiotic may not work.
After infection control go for extraction of wisdom tooth.
Ok and take care.
