Intense Pain In The Throat, Inflamed Tonsils. Cause?
I went to an Ent yesterday and he said my throat was fine after looking down my throat with a camera, but this morning I have an intense pain on my right side of throat. He said that my tonsils were inflammed and I have a little acid reflux damage. What can I do to soothe the pain. Also I slept with a fan directly in my face last night

The inflamed tonsils could be bacterial or viral. If fever is associated you can go with a pencillin shot. If you are allergic to pencillin other antibiotics like roxid 150mg two times daily for five days can be used. To alleviate the pain Dolo 650mg can be used. Salt water gargling, avoiding cool liquids or foods- like icecreams, ice cakes and ice water, taking hot beverages like coffee, tea, soups will relieve the symptoms.
Acid reflux can be managed by Omeprazole, pantoprazole or rabiprazole. If still the problem persists please consult your GP.
