Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Intermittent Sharp Pains In The Waist. Hurts To Breathe. What Could It Be?
Yesterday I started to have sharp pains off and on, on the right side at the waist line. Once in awhile it radiates pain across the front waistline and up the right side some. When pushed on, it radiates pain as well. Also when getting into car, it can be painful, but then subsides to a bearable level. Breathing can also make the pain increase in that area. Any ideas of what it could be?
I understand your concerns. Your problem description leads me to think about the kind of pain you are having to be appendicular in origin. If you have an appendicitis it can be detected on physical examination and sometimes imaging. However, you will do well with consulting a doctor who can refer you to a surgeon as you probably need an appendectomy. I hope this helps.
Take care and have a lovely day!
