Hello,
Yes, they have some
antioxidants also some phytosterols, polyphenols that help in reducing weights. But Dr.tea alone is not the answer to
weight loss. And I won't suggest my patients too. I will give you some suggestions for weight loss in a healthy way. Please do follow it. First, stay away from all the fast or processed and fried foodstuffs. Divide your meal into four to five parts per day whenever you feel hungry. With 2/3 snacks in between. That helps to keep the sugar levels constant throughout the day. Add more of fiber-rich foodstuffs like green leafy vegetables, raw fruits (not juices), take very fewer carbohydrates (rice) to avoid sugar completely.
Take Millets in boiled form or the bread prepared out of it like ragi, bajra, sorghum, wheat etcetera, are very good sources of micronutrients required for the action of
insulin. Take more of protein-rich food, like egg white, fish is a good source of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Moreover, beetroot juice (inorganic nitrate), olive leaves, garlic, turmeric, tamarind also have proven benefits. Say no to oils and cholesterol-rich foodstuffs. Based on this, with the help of a dietitian, you prepare your diet chart and strictly follow it.
Physical activity is very important, play games, walk at least half an hour to one hour a day. This not only helps you to burn calories but also to relieve your
stress. Music is another way to relax too. Try and practice
yoga,
meditation, and pranayama. Some asanas are very easy to practice and also beneficial. Quit
smoking (if) and reduce your alcohol intake.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Niranjan G
