Good morning,
This is quite interesting. Your
thyroid is normal so the doctor gives you a pill(Ebexid) with thyroid hormones and vitamins in it? On the dangerous side, if you take thyroid hormones when you don't need them it can cause your own gland to stop producing hormones of its own and eventually you DO end up with thyroid problems.
There are far better things to take than this and all should include a positive lifestyle change incorporating exercise, diet and attitude. Qsymia is a prescription
weight loss drug just approved that can be used short term while you are learning lifestyle change habits. It is a mixture of an appetite suppressant/mild stimulant and another appetite decreasing drug.Ask your doctor about this drug.
Please pay attention to your diet. A good
multivitamin high in the
B vitamins is good to take every day. Any woman of child bearing age must be sufficient in
folic acid, iron, iodine,
selenium and protein especially. So, just take a multivitamin please. Iodine in bindis is being sold now in India and it may be prudent to look into one if it is consistent with your religion.
You aren't that much
overweight, but if you don't learn positive lifestyle habits now, you may struggle with this your entire life.Good luck, Pinky.Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN
