Is Ketoconazole A Suitable Remedy For Redness And Itching In Skin Due To Scabies?

Hi sir I think I have scabies on my body . It looks like red spots on your arms legs and underarms. Itching is really bad , I went to the doctor and he gave ketoconazole it doesn't work either I don't know what to.do trust on my doc or yo go to another pls help me

Hello. Thank you for your question. Ketoconazole is generally prescribed for fungal infections. If your diagnosis is actually scabies, ketoconazole will probably not help. Scabies are not fungal. Most physicians will use something called "permethrin". I recommend consulting with your doctor about this.
