Is Nexplanon Birth Control Safe For Someone With FNH?
I have a focal nodular hyperplasia and was using Ortho novum 777 oral contraceptives for 3+ years, is this the cause of my FNH? I switched to a Nexplanon birth control implant a month ago, is this a safer method of contraception for someone with FNH to prevent growth and complications?
Hi Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic. I have gone through your query. I think I have understood your concern, I will try to suggest you the best possible treatment options.
1) First of all do not panic. 2)Yes, Nexplanon is a safe and effective method of contraception. It has long duration of action and minimal drug dose delivery and good safety profile. 3)As such it should not haveeffect on FHN like liver lesion. Please be in touch with gastro-enterology expert to be on safer side.
I hope my answer helps you. Thanks. Wish you good health. With regards Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar
