Is SGOT And SGPT Normal Given Symptoms Of Loose Motion And Fever?
sir, yesterday i admitted a hospital because of loose motion and fever. here is my test result S G.O.T:80 and SGPT:123. They treated me very well so i feel ok now. But i have a medical test at next week thats why i feel some doubt about these two result. Is it normal or not. If it is not normal please explain me posibilities of my disease.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Loose motion and fever suggest gastrointestinal (GIT) infection. Treatment has relieved the infection. SGOT and SGPT are liver enzymes which are elevated in cases of liver disorders. Injury to the liver cells leads to release of these enzymes. Thus, there is some kind of injury to the liver cells and thus elevated level of these enzymes. The normal range for these enzymes is between 0-40 IU/L. Thus, consult your gastroenterologist for clinical assessment and relavnt investigations to look for the cause of elevated liver enzymes.
