Is A Surgery Needed For The Oblique Tear On The Medial Meniscus?
I had an MRI of the right knee on 12/16/13. Today I learne3d that there is an oblique tear posterior horn ofr the medial meniscus. The reason for having the mri in the first place is that on 11/26/13 my knee gave out on twice. the second time was serious. Should I have surgery or is there a better solution?
Meniscusinjury can be managed by arthroscopic repair, and same day you can go home. As per your symptoms you need to do physiotherapy and knee exercises to improve range of motion . If pain persist then you may need to do MRI again to see for any functional defect.
small meniscus tear can be managed conservatively with physiotherapy with USG andTENS.
