Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic. I understand that you are having mild acne, failed to respond to Minocycline and hence have been put on oral isotretinoin 10 mg. Isotretinoin is a good drug for acne management. However, it should be taken only under the supervision of a dermatologist. I is associated with side effects like dryness of skin and lips, liver abnormalities, rise in cholesterol and triglyceride levels, depression and most significantly teratogenicity. A woman cannot conceive while on the drug and for at least 3 months after stopping the drug. A lipid profile and liver enzyme test is generally done monthly while on the drug to look for side effects. At a dosage of 10 mg these side effects are minimal. Please discuss with your dermatologist about the above mentioned tests. It is generally prescribed for 2- 3 months depending on the response. Hope this helps you. Take care.
