Is Acyclover And Dectaren Oral Gel Right Treatment For Herpes Mouth Ulcers?

Hi I have aphtous ulcers/herpes mouth ulcers, I was hospitalized and put on drips with Augmentan ( anti-biotic) the specialist treating me did not know what his treating me for and continued requesting tests, it was after I took a second opinion that the correct diagnosis was given. What I was told is that in terms of treatment of herpes ulcers anti-biotics actually aggrevate and feed the virus, is this correct ? I am now taking acyclover and using dectaren oral gel, feeling relief with this.Is it the correct medication ?

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain in case if you are diagnosed with herpes that is a viral infection then taking antibiotics will not relieve as they can fight only bacterial infection but they will feed the virus is also an inappropriate explanation..
You should continue taking anti-viral medication like Acyclovir but Dectaren Oral Gel contains Miconazole that is an anti-fungal medication and it will also not help in herpes and in place of it you can use anti-viral topical ointments like Valtrex [Valacyclovir] to reduce topical viral count..
