Is Advil Likely To Help Severe Sore Throat And Ear Pain?
I have a severe sore throat and ears hurt. I am achy and have had chills and sweats. It hurts when I put pressure on my throat by the ears. Took Advil and that helped a little and I have been gargling with lemon juice, salt and warm water. I have been sucking on chloraseptics, but nothing really helps.

Thank you for the query.
You are having upper respiratory tract infection.Severe sore throat require a course of antibiotic to treat this apart from gargling with salt water.You are taking advil which contains ibuprofen which is for pain only not for sore throat.So take some antibiotic like tablet Azithromycine 250 mg twice a day along with tablet ranitidine 150 mg for 5 days. Take advil if you have pain.
