Is An Elevated Level Of Lipase And Amylase Enzymes Serious?

In preparation for a diagnostic colonoscopy to check for Celiac, I have been eating foods that I know cause abdominal bloating, constipation, and gas. I have been quite miserable, but am now concerned because I am having a new pain on the upper right side of my abdomen. That area also appears to be swollen. It is soft to the touch, but hurts if I push with moderate force. Three weeks ago my lipase and amalyse enzymes were slightly elevated. Do I wait this out until I see the GI for tests in 2 weeks or have it checked sooner? Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Respected user, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly .
* Elevated levels of lipase and amylase come across in many conditions as
- pancreatic pathology - salivary gland infections - intestinal blockages -
tubal pregnancy - perforated ulcer - gastroenteritis - cholecystitis - celiac
disease - crohn`s dusease - others
* Minor elevated levels are of not serious matter , if considerably high
warrant extensive underlying issue .
* Issue of right upper abdomen is more likely to be liver abscess related ,
I recommend to consult the gastrologist immediately without delay .
Hope this helps you .
