Is Bloody Nose Related To High Blood Glucose Level In A Toddler?

My 2 year old toddler has Type 1 Diabetes and is on an insulin pump. His blood glucose levels have been very high lately (average of 12 mmol/L) in spite of the corrections I've been making on the pump. I do realize the settings need to change and I have been in contact with his endocrinologist to change those but noticed that today he has starting with a bloody nose which I'm wondering if the two are related?

Usually the patients of diabetes do not develop the potential of bleeding. The possibility arises only if they are severely hypovolemic or dehydrated.

I will consider upper respiratory tract as a more possible cause of the bleed. In any case, a visit to a pediatrician would be a good idea considering the fact that such your babies are very delicate.
