Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of having Crohn's, just had colonoscopy showing the result of cecal inflammation, tight ileocolic anastomosis not allowing to pass a scope and aphthous ulcer and you need a colo-rectal surgery.TThe meaning that you wanted to know:
The aphthous ulcer is small ulcer of the size of less than 3 mm.
Mild inflammation of the cecum, the beginning part of the large bowel wherein the small intestine end and open.
There is a connection between small bowel called ileum and the colon that is large bowel, but the opening is small not allowing the colonoscopy to pass, means now or in future, there can be obstruction to the small intestine leading to an emergency surgery if the blockage is complete.
Hence is the need for corrective surgery, will remove the diseased bowel and do anastomosis to have normal continuity in the small as well as large bowel.
