Is Consuming Torleva For Epilepsy During Pregnancy Safe?

i am pregnant.i have epilepsy.i eat torleva500.my question is any bad effect or problem to eat torleva500 in pregnancy.please say about my babys health in pregnancy..please say my baby is safe or not to eat that medicine in pragnancy..i am ten week pregnant now.

Hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your worry , especially while it is affecting your pregnancy. Torleva belongs to the FDA pregnancy category C which means that animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.

So take the pills only if your doctor ordered this medication and if he thinks that it is safier for you and your baby to take this pills than being without them.
