Hi, I am currently taking tetralysal for about a month now due to cyctic acne, It's working because my acne is in control. Also, i am using BP and Acne aid soap. The doctor advised me to take tetralysal for two more weeks and after that i need to stop the medication. I am just scared that my acne would start again. Is there a possibility that my cyctic acne would go back after the medication?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cystic acne on face which is severest form of acne. It occurs when a pore in your skin gets clogged, usually with debris, bacteria and dead skin cells and causing area to be red and swollen. It could be due to hormonal change during puberty , androgen hormones stimulate more sebum to be produced and a greater amount of skin cells to proliferate. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. You should wash your face using a clindamycin gel with mild soap and lukewarm water. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe chemical peeling and laser therapy.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
