Is Delayed Menstrual Period A Sign Of Pregnancy?

Hi I am 28 years old. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 10 months. My cycle is usually 27 days or less. Since coming off the pill I have never been late. Right now I am on day 29 with no period. I have had cramps for 2 days now. Usually when I have cramps I start my period right away. Could I be pregnant?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. In the current scenario, I would ask you to wait a couple more days and if you still do not see the period, go for a HPT with a fresh early morning sample of urine to confirm/exclude pregnancy. This should be followed by a trans-vaginal sonogram to know the status of the pelvic organs, especially the endometrial cavity. If positive, the location of the gestation sac and the age of the pregnancy also can be noted. Hope your query has been answered. Take care.
