Is Diarrhea With Blood And Mucous Sign Of Crohn's Disease?

I wonder if anyone could help advise me if this relates to Crohn's disease.
I have been having pain on my right hand side for yeas and have had three operations one for a fistula and the second for abscess and 3rd for appendix i have suffered with fissures and recently a CT scan had shown ulcers in the ileum part of the intestine. I suffer from Diarrhoea, blood with mucus, night sweats and bloating after eating and weight lose along with more but these are most recurring systems.
My gastrologist was almost certain i had Cronh's disease and ordered a colonoscopy and placed me on steroids for the inflammation. The colonoscopy has come back normal the steroids had cleared the ulcers so now just saying i have IBS. Can a colonoscopy be inaccurate as i still strongly believe all the above symptoms relates to crohn's.

Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM .
Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.
You seems to suffer from-Other Causes- like Ileo-Ceacl TB- Enteritis-Which could
cause night sweats, weight loss with blood mucus/diarrhea complaints.
Steroids used have made the picture blurred and its not easy to reply your query- in the given situation.
Accompaniment of Fissure in ano and abscess- makes it more suspicious of Crohn's ,but TB enteritis causing fistular abscess with fissure in ano-can't be ruled out.
Check and rule out accompanied Diabetes in such cases.
NOrmal Colonoscopy would alert one, as the ulcers could resolve in crohn's but would recurr with more flare up in both conditions, but more so in TB enteritis.
Other causes of weight loss with blood mucus-like-Ulcerative Colitis/Diverticulosis/Polyposis coli, need to be watched during later followup colonoscopies for the recurrence and or 1 yrly if you can afford to avoid complications and risks of CA-Colon in such cases with Crohn's.
Blood Tests-with IGRA-of blood and stool samples would fix the TB entero-colitis causing such a complaint.
CT Abodmen with Contrast Colon Studies would fix Crohn's with Thickened Colonic or enteric walls .
Reply to your query-
Q-Can a colonoscopy be inaccurate as i still strongly believe all the above symptoms relates to crohn's.
Ans-AS the steroids recovered the complaints fast-don't jump to some wrong conclusions.IN the given scenario-wait and watch for recurrence and its picture.
But in the given scenario of accompanied night sweats with weight loss-accompanied with other complaints-makes TB-entero-colitis to be more likely.
Hope this would help you to plan further care of this complex illness of yours.
