Is Elbow Replacement Surgery Recommended Due To Risk Of Infection?

Hello,I am 56 year male living in Jaipur,Rajasthan,India. About 3yrs 6 months back I had a fell down from 12ft height and broke my jaw bone, femur of the right leg and my right elbow was crushed beyond repair. A year after I had a heart attack wherin I had 100% blockage in an artery, which after angioplasty they put a non-medicated stent in it. I am on blood thinners for it. My jaw was repaired by a maxilofacial surgeon with 7 plates and 26 screws which are there for life. My femur rod is still there only my elbow was reoperated and the wires and screws were taken out. During operation a piece of wire was so entangled in the 2 nerves that the orthopedic thought it best to leave it there. Everything was OK till a month back I had a viral infection of the stomach but with peculiar pain and stiffness in my operated elbow and the nape of my neck.Movement of both parts were ristricted. After a blood and full body bone scan which showed infection or inflammation of the elbow and high count ESR-75mm, and CRP-2.68mg,platelet count--542,000cu mm,and uric acid--30mg. The rest of the report was within limits. My blood reports 6 months earlier also showed elevated ESR-20mm,CRP slightly high and even platelet count.
My Dr. advised 2 stage elbow replacement surgery. In the first he had to remove the wire and control the infection and after 3 months I have to go in for my elbow replacement. My first operation is due 1st week August.
My query to u is---Is this infection growing since the past 6 months and will it be risky to operate in such conditions.?Also long period infection must be having its risks. What should I be knowing and taking precautions till my operation.? Is elbow replacement a risky operation and how do I choose the best orthopedic doctor to do it.? Is India safe or should I have it done overseas and where? Thank you for your early reply and taking time to answer my query.
