Is Endoscopy Required To Stop Acid Back Flow In Throat From Stomach?
Hi Doctor,I am having dry cough at times for the past three or four days. My near by ENT Specilist said i might have acidity in the stomach and hence throat is affected by the acid back flow from stomach. He said i must do endoscopy. For the present i am taking acidity tablets PAN40 before food and multi vitamin tablet Bevon in the afternoon.Should I have to undergo Endoscopy or shall i simply take some acidity tablets and do away with it as i am having any continous cough?Regards,Kuppuswamy Theerthamalai
Endoscopy is a diagnostic procedure to visualize the condition in the oesophagus, stomach etc. it is not curative and will not stop reflux or regurgitation, which may be better treated after proper diagnosis with endoscopy.
