Is Having To Take Insulin For Diabetes At A Young Age Very Harmful?
I am 35 year old guy and found diabetese in my 20th age. last ten years I am taking insulin (H& R mixing) daily 2 times . But my sugar lever is always above 300. mostly it is 380 (fasting) and 470(PPBS), and 530 (RBS), If I eat sweets or not the result will be same. I dont feel any problems by this or no symptoms found on my body. I am 65 KG and 5.7 height. I am an IT professional.
Dear Sir, You Sugars are high. Has the type on diabetes been confirmed? If you are type 1 then you may need to rework your insulin scheme. If you are a type 2 diabetic i would prefer to add tablets and slowly wean you out of insulin. Whatever the type of diabetes you are having the sugars are uncontrolled and you really need to spare time for your health. Stress associated with your profession might act as an important factor. Insulin is very safe and it doesn't cause any harm so for the time being you can continue to take insulin without any hesitation. I also have one good news for you- Recently FDA had approved inhaled insulin. may be within a few years it will be available in India as well. Dr.Riyaz Sheriff
