Hi,

Noted the history about a 83 year old woman having constipation for 20 days, cleared now but got dehydration and got hospitalized for 7 days with dehydration, low sodium, urea as indicated although the figures looks some typing mistakes, suffering from heavy weakness and wants suggestions so that you can walk yourself without any support.

Constipation of 20 days makes lots of changes in the large intestines and once relieved, the underlying things get manifested as you have discussed .The fluid and electrolyte imbalance has to be properly managed and I am sure it will be managed as you are admitted. It is the potassium that helps recover from the weakness and eating banana and drinking coconut juice will help you the most.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. T Chandrakant
