Is Intake Of Isoace Suggested For Acne After Lipid Profile Test?
Hi m 25 yrs old nd i m having acne problem. 2 yrs back i faced this problem but doctor suggested me to take isoace medicine. it was fine after that. but again i am facing this problem. so can i repeat this medicine after going through lipid profile test.
Isotretinoin OR Isoace is a wonderful antiacne medication. Acne, if moderately severe to severe in nature OR Acne unresponsive to traditional antiacne medication OR Acne which quickly relapses are all an indication of it. Sometimes repeat courses of Isotretinoin may be required
While on Isotretinoin, it is important to keep an eye over Serum Lipid Profile as Isotretinoin can raise serum levels of triglycerides and cholesterol.
As a routine, your doctor would like to get a baseline test (before initiating therapy with Isotretinoin) and a repeat test after 1 month to look for any changes, if any. Therefore, I would suggest that after a baseline test for Lipid profile you should follow it up with your treating dermatologist after a month or so of Isotretinoin, for a repeat lipid profile test.
Hope this helps.
