Is It Normal For Child To Smell Like Vinegar?

My 6 year old daughter woke up sweaty and smelled like vinegar. The heater is hotter in her room than any other and she did ave on her flannels. I asked her if she wet her bed but she said no it was hot in there. we closed the vent, took off a blanket and put on cooler pj's. The next day she was okay, but I still smell it a little bit on her hair after a shower and shampoo. Can this be normal or ??

Hi
Welcome to HCM
Read your query

Sweat or body odor can have a vinegar-like smell due to the breakdown of amino acids by a certain type of bacteria. This results in proprionic acid, which has a similar structure to acetic acid (the acid found in vinegar).

Also, having diabetes that is uncontrolled can lead to a vinegar-type smell when you sweat. Some vitamins, medications, and foods also cause your sweat to smell of vinegar.
I would suggest you check for diabetes.

I hope it helps
Best of luck
